Learning the basics of finance is an important step in our futures. Topics such as how to build credit, repair damaged credit, budget expenses, and navigate contracts are a few examples of the knowledge critical in creating a financially sound future. Teaching these principles will help consumers make informed financial decisions in their futures. As adults start taking on more responsibilities they face many choices that may open them up to fraud. When it's time to start making decisions about attending colleges or universities, starting careers, sign leases, and making their first big purchases they’ll need to be able to recognize and report fraud along the way.
The Financial Literacy Center was developed in an effort to help individuals better prepare themselves to confront common scams and become savvy consumers no matter what decisions they're facing.
